Trigg County is part of the Pennyrile Region of Kentucky and as of the 2020 census, the population of Trigg was 14,061. Lake Barkley runs through the middle of Trigg County which means that the county encompasses a large central portion of the Land Between the Lakes including the Visitor’s Center, Woodlands Nature Center, and the Golden Pond Planetarium. Fishing, water sports and outdoor activities provide both recreation and opportunity as the county is the home of many marinas and Lake Barkley State Park. Cadiz is the county seat of Trigg County and is anchored by a main artery lined with historic homes and a charming downtown area boasting numerous antique shops.
