Graves County, in the heart of the Jackson Purchase, is one of the largest counties in Kentucky and as of the 2020 census, has a population of 36,615 residents. Rich farmland makes it one of the top producing agricultural areas in the state. Mayfield serves as the county seat and has proven its resiliency and determination as it builds toward its future. When an F4 tornado stuck Mayfield on the night of December 10, 2021, and destroyed much of central Mayfield, the residents stood together and have taken on a unique opportunity to reimagine their hometown and rebuild. Graves County offers good schools, a solid industrial base, and is home to the Jackson Purchase Medical Center. It’s location close to Kentucky Lake, and the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers, provide unlimited opportunities for outdoor recreation.
